Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to know how to ride a horse?
No! Our horses are very gentle and used to these routes. Before leaving, the guide will give you a brief instruction on how to handle the reins and the correct posture.
Why are long pants mandatory?
For your own comfort and safety. When horseback riding, the friction of your legs with the straps and the saddle can cause painful chafing if you wear shorts.
Can we gallop or trot during the route?
For safety reasons and to keep the group together, the route is mainly done at a walking pace. If the whole group has a high riding level and the guide considers it safe, there might be short trotting sections, but it is not guaranteed.
What happens if I weigh more than 100 kg (220 lbs)?
For strict animal welfare reasons and the care of our mounts, unfortunately, we cannot accept riders who exceed 100 kg in weight.
Do you offer a hotel pick-up service?
No, we do not have a transport service. You must get directly to our base in Aguamansa (La Orotava) on your own. You can easily arrive by rental car, taxi, or by taking Bus 345 from Puerto de la Cruz (getting off at the “Casa Forestal” stop).
