In Detail

Begin your journey at 6 PM from our office in Puerto de la Cruz. As we ascend the mountain roads, you will watch the lush landscape transform into a volcanic terrain that looks straight out of Mars. Our first main stop will be at the supernatural Minas de San José, a vast expanse of golden volcanic sand where you can take a pleasant walk through the Lunar Landscape and capture spectacular photographs.

Next, we will pass by the geological viewpoint of La Tarta before heading to the highlight of the afternoon: the magnificent Chipeque Viewpoint. This spot, which has become a social media phenomenon for offering one of the best sunsets in the world, is perfectly situated above the sea of clouds. To make this moment truly unforgettable, we will offer you a complimentary chilled glass of cava to toast while the sky glows in shades of pink, orange, and purple.

Once night falls, we will move to the La Bermeja Viewpoint. Far from all light pollution, our expert guide will help you interpret the blanket of stars, the constellations, and the Milky Way in a fascinating astronomical experience, before comfortably descending back to Puerto de la Cruz at approximately 11 PM.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is this excursion shorter than the usual premium route?

This tour is designed for the summer months or for those who prefer not to dedicate the entire day to the excursion or arrive very late at the hotel. By removing the heavy dinner at the guachinche and focusing the experience on the scenery, sunset cava, and stars, we condense the best of the summit into 5 perfect hours.

Do we visit the famous Chipeque Viewpoint seen on social media?

Absolutely! It is one of the main highlights of the new route. We will stop for 45 minutes at Chipeque Viewpoint right at the golden hour to watch the sun hide beneath the sea of clouds, accompanying the moment with a glass of cava.

Will we be able to see stars if the sky is cloudy in Puerto de la Cruz?

Yes! That’s the main secret of the high peaks. By ascending to over 2,000 metres above sea level, we pass through the “sea of clouds” left by the trade winds, which almost always guarantees a perfectly clear and starry sky at the top even if the coast is covered.

Is it cold on Mount Teide during summer nights?

Yes, at 2,300 metres high the temperatures drop drastically at night, even in July and August. We will provide warm jackets if needed, but it is essential that you bring your own sweater, jacket, and long trousers as well.

Are telescopes used during the observation?

No, we carry out a naked-eye astronomical observation focused on Cultural Astronomy. Our expert guide will teach you how to read the sky and identify the main constellations with the help of a professional long-range laser pointer.
